My Song
My Song
"The LORD is...my song." Exodus 15:2
Song. My Song. What an unexpected name of God.
David was a troubadour. A songwriter. Frequently he would reach deep inside himself and name the source of his songs--both lyric and melody.
When David said, The Lord is my Song, he was saying more than the Lord is the source of my inspiration, or the Lord is the theme of my music. He said, the Lord IS my Music. He IS actually my Song itself.
This name of God comes from a deep place within David. A place where life, joy, laughter, creativity, lyrics, melodies and harmonies flow freely. And it's all inspired from the headwaters of Jesus.
You may know Jesus as one you sing about, but do you know Jesus as the one from whom your creative juices flow?
Just as Jesus became David's Song, he now wants to become your Song as well.
Lord Jesus, I open my arms, I open my heart to you now. I receive you as my Song--the one from whom flows my life, my joy, my inspiration, the music of my soul.
