The Truth
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
Many people claim to tell the truth. Only Jesus claimed to be the Truth.
The quest for truth is an age-old pursuit, as old as humanity itself.
I am the truth stands alone in human history--no one else on record has ever made such an audacious statement.
Perhaps unknowingly, our quest for truth has all along been a quest for God--a quest for Jesus.
I am the truth is, first of all, a true statement. Jesus meant it.
I am the truth is Jesus' bold invitation for you to encounter true meaning in life.
I am the truth, more than promising to unlock all the mysteries of the universe, is more a promise to answer the deepest longings of your soul.
I am the truth is God's way of sneaking up next to you, looking you face-to-face, and somehow knowing you better than you know yourself.
I am the truth is Jesus’ way of distinguishing himself from all the other religious leaders. He not only tells the truth, he IS the Truth.
That's who Jesus is, and that's who he wants to be to you.
Lord Jesus, I take you as Truth. The Truth. My Truth. My truth-teller. The one and only one who tells me the truth about myself, my world, everything. And the one who is Truth when everyone else is a liar.
