Orphan Spirit - The Antidote

Orphan Spirit - The Antidote

"You did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, 'Abba! Father!'” Romans 8:15

The antidote for the orphan spirit is the Spirit of adoption as sons. The antidote is Father.

When Christ was born into our human orphanage, he was the only one on earth who could legitimately call God Father. His mission was to break off from us the orphan spirit, and replace it with the antidote.

In order to provide the antidote, he needed to sacrifice his Sonship and actually become an orphan. Now, as the resurrected and restored Son, he is able to give us what we could have never imagined--adoption as sons. What a miracle cure!

If you are a woman, don't feel slighted by the term adoption as sons. In the first century, only male children received an inheritance. Women were unfortunately excluded. Adoption as sons means that all people in Christ--men and women--have an equal share of God's inheritance. Rather than being demeaning to women, adoption as sons actually elevates women to a place of honor and equality.

In Christ, you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons with all rights and privileges. Don't let the enemy tell you different. The Spirit of adoption as sons emboldens you to say Father.

Loving Father, I receive again right now the Spirit of adoption as sons. I praise you for the richness of my inheritance.
