Name-Carrier

Name-Carrier

“I have come in my Father’s name.” John 5:43

More than anyone who ever lived, Jesus knew the power of the Name. He was a Name-Carrier.

When Jesus came into our world, he had a heightened awareness that he came in the Name. He went as far as to say, “I have come in my Father’s name.” This means that Jesus is a Name-carrier.

When you are in Christ, you too come in the Name. God wants to put the same heightened awareness that also you come in the Name. This means that you are a Name-carrier.

Name-carriers are more concerned about representing the Name than their own name. Their identity is shaped by the Name. The Name has set them free from self-hatred, self-loathing, and even self-consciousness. The Name does not eradicate your identity; on the contrary, the Name validates your identity.

This is your call to be a Name-carrier. The more conscious you become of carrying the Name, the freer you are to be yourself, the unique person God made you to be.

Loving Father, I am your Name-carrier. There is no higher privilege than to know you and to make you known.
