Speed Dial

Speed Dial

“People began to call upon the name of the Lord.” Genesis 4:26

When you were born again, God put his Name in your heart on speed dial. Don’t think for a moment that you need to be in trouble in order to call on the Name of the Lord. Calling on the Name of the Lord is calling home.

When Adam and Eve were grandparents, people began for the first time “to call upon the name of the Lord.” This is the first time in scripture we see people calling on the Name. Just as they rediscovered the potency of the Name, God is now showing you the power of his Name.

To call is the Hebrew word qara, which means to call aloud, to commission, to summon, to proclaim or pronounce loudly.

While God certainly responds to every call of "Help!", he also responds to every secret longing, every heart cry, and every quiet groan. There is never an inappropriate time to call upon the Name of the Lord.
