Glorify the Name
Glorify the Name
“’Father, glorify your name.’ Then a voice came from heaven: ‘I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.’” John 12:28
We all like to pray prayers that get answered. One prayer that is always answered is, “Father, glorify your Name.”
Imagine Christ asking His Father, “Father, glorify your Name.” And then imagine hearing a booming voice from heaven respond, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”
In a sense, this antiphonal response of heaven is on replay whenever you ask God to glorify His Name. The same response from the Father that Jesus received, you too will receive.
“Father, glorify your Name” is a prayer God always answers, because it is a prayer in perfect alignment with heaven, I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.
“Glorify” is the Greek word doxazo which means, to take the hidden dignity and worth of someone and make it manifest; to extol, magnify, adore, honor, and celebrate.
There is no more effective prayer that you will ever pray than, Father, glorify your Name.
Pray it today. Pray it often.
