The Name Is the Presence
“So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:27
When you use the Name of God, don’t miss the Presence.
God gave the priests of Aaron the authority to speak this blessing over the people.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26
The words immediately after this blessing give us a mighty revelation-- they show the connection between the blessing of God and the Name of God.
“So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:27
The power to make his face shine upon you, and, to lift up his countenance upon you, is the power to impart God’s manifest presence to God’s people. For this reason, when you communicate God’s presence to God's people, you are putting God’s Name on the people, and when you put God’s name on the people you are communicating His Presence. Powerful.
Today God gives you His Name, His Presence, and His blessing.
When you take the Name, you take the Presence. What a blessing!
