Perfect Love
Perfect Love
"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear." 1 John 4:18a
Perfect love is virtually incomprehensible. It is certainly humanly impossible. For this reason, most people live in perpetual bondage of fear of one sort or another.
Now for the good news.
God not only loves you with perfect love, he wants you to experience this perfect love firsthand; and when you do, it will grab every fear by the throat and throw it out the door once and for all.
You will never get rid of fear, until you have something more powerful than fear. Father God's love for you in Christ is more powerful than sin, death, fear, or anything else on earth. And Father God's love for you is perfect and complete.
When the Bible promises you that perfect love casts out all fear it is not talking about your perfect love for God, but rather his perfect love for you. Perfect love has a name, Jesus.
You see, the One who knows you best, loves you most. [Reread that sentence three or four times.]
You now have an opportunity to receive the Father's perfect love, and while you are at it, go ahead and cast out all fear in Jesus' name!
Father God, you know me best and love me most. Right now I receive your baptism of love in Jesus name. Perfect Love, drive out all fear in Jesus' name.
