Jesus, Savior
Jesus, Savior
You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
The naming of a child is always significant. When Father God named His Son He gave Him the name Jesus, which literally means Savior, Conqueror, Deliverer. Today, there are many people around the world who have the name Jesus; there is, however, only one Savior.
Normally when a child is born, one of the great joys of the mother and father is to name the baby. Because Jesus was uniquely the one and only Son of God, God the Father took the opportunity to name His boy. He dispatched His angel and clearly instructed Joseph that when his engaged wife Mary would give birth to their miracle child, the name to be given was Jesus.
As you prepare to celebrate the birth of God’s only Son, take time today to declare the full meaning of His name. Jesus. Savior. Conqueror. Deliverer. Declare His name over your own soul, over your family members, friends, neighbors, and associates.
As you spend time this week celebrating Christmas with family and friends, always be ready to point them to Jesus, who is the manifest presence of God.
Loving Father, I praise You for sending Your one and only Son, Jesus. I love Jesus. I declare the name Jesus right now over my own soul, family, and friends. Bring salvation to my home, my family, and my associates.
