Your Whole Spirit, Soul and Body
Your Whole Spirit, Soul and Body
May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 5:23
While this world’s system tries to put ultimate emphasis on the physical, God’s redemptive order is to put the primary emphasis on the spirit, or heart, of a person.
When the Apostle Paul blessed the church in Thessalonica—spirit, soul and body—he intentionally laid out the divine order of emphasis. God first redeems the spirit, or heart, of a person. He then sanctifies the soul, and He will eventually glorify the body. Christ restores the heart, or spirit, of a person first, and He wants us to put primary emphasis on the spirit.
The devil, on the other hand, and this world’s system put the greater emphasis on the body. Sad. Elevating the physical above the spiritual is a defilement.
As you grow in Christ, you learn to live out of your spirit.
Father God, You have redeemed my spirit. I therefore choose to live out of my new, redeemed heart, in Jesus’ Name.
