Blessed Generosity

Blessed Generosity

“Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.” Proverbs 22:9

When you have an impulse to give generously, go with it. Don’t second guess yourself. Of your three internal motivations— the Holy Spirit, the flesh, the devil— the flesh and the devil virtually never prompt generosity. The motivation to give generously is normally prompted by the Holy Spirit

This Bible promise of blessing on a bountiful eye should encourage you next time you have a generous impulse: Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.

Generosity is a blessing that not only blesses the one who receives the gift, but it also blesses you when you give it. You don't want to miss out on your blessing.

And that is a promise.

Loving father, out of your generous heart, you call me to give generously in Jesus name.
