Strong Tower
"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe." Proverbs 18:10
Only the righteous discover the Strong Tower because only the righteous are humble enough to admit they need protection.
Too many people, including Christians, are so proud and self-sufficient, they don't even admit they need shelter.
Humankind is the highest level of God's creation, not so that you would show yourself invincible, but quite the opposite--to show to all creation that even the pinnacle of God's creation is in perpetual need of his sustaining grace. Including you.
The gateway to Strong Tower is humility.
The gateway to humility is encountering Strong Tower.
It's not a one and then the other; it's a two for one and all at once.
Lord Jesus, as I encounter you as Strong Tower, I renounce my pride and stake my claim on my own God-given human vulnerability.
