Sleep Giver
Sleep Giver
"It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep." Psalm 127:2
Insomnia is a miserable affliction. You were made to require sleep, and when it's deprived from you, it's hard to think straight, let alone function.
Did you realize that one of the facets to God's name is Sleep Giver? He promises to give sleep to his children, his beloved.
When you are so stressed that your mind won't turn off, or you're so overextended that your motor won't shut down, God not only wants you to rest, he promises to give you sleep. And you receive it by faith--just like you receive every other gift from God.
Better than a sleeping pill, take Jesus, your Sleep Giver.
Father God, I come in Jesus' name to receive from you the deep, refreshing sleep I desperately need. I receive you, Sleep Giver.
