Protector of Widows

Protector of Widows

"Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation." Psalm 68:5

Widows are among the most vulnerable and marginalized people on earth. Throughout history and in most cultures of the world, widows are worthless, poor, and destitute. But not to God.

Protecting widows is not just something God does in his off time; it's his name. It's his nature. He is Protector of widows.

You don't need to be a widow to appreciate the beauty and significance of this name.
There may be no facet of God's multi-faceted name that better captures his compassion, gentleness, and kindness than Protector of widows.

Lord Jesus, Protector of widows, today I receive your compassion, your kindness, and gentleness. Thank you for protecting me and mine.
