Father of the Fatherless
Father of the Fatherless
"Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation." Psalm 68:5
To identify Jesus as the Father to the fatherless is more than a reference to his compassion for the orphan, it's an acknowledgment of his entire life mission.
You and I are orphans--spiritual orphans, without a relationship with Father God.
When Jesus was born into our human orphanage, he was the only one who could rightfully call God, Father. And he came to join us in our orphan state when he died on the cross praying the forsaken orphan prayer, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me"(Matthew 27:46.)
Jesus momentarily became an orphan so that you can eternally become a son or daughter. With all rights and privileges.
Call him Father to the fatherless.
Lord Jesus, you who are the Son of God became an orphan, that I might become a full fledged child of God. Hallelujah! What a Savior.
