Lord of Hosts
“You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts." 1 Samuel 17:45
We love the leadership of Christ in our own lives, as well as in our family and church family. But sometimes we forget that Christ not only has rule on earth, but also in heaven. Christ is Lord of hosts, the commanding General of angel armies.
Christ doesn't fight alone. He has millions of strong and feisty angels at his command.
When young novice David went toe-to-toe against ginormous well-seasoned Goliath, he was empowered by the single facet of God's name--Lord of hosts.
David's faith was emboldened to know that he was not fighting alone. He took hold of his sling-shot and stones, and he also grabbed the name of God. He stood against his adversary in the name of the Lord of hosts, the Lord of angel armies.
Whatever adversary or adversity you face today, you don't stand alone. You stand in the name of the Lord of hosts, the Lord of angel armies.
Father God, I declare your name, the Lord of hosts! I come against my adversaries in the name of the Lord of hosts, the name of my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. And I declare your victory.
