The Name Over the Wins and Losses
"The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” Job 1:21
It's easy to give honor to God's name when you win. But when you lose, not so much.
Job was a mature soul who declared God's name when he was prosperous and successful, and he declared God's name when his kids were killed, their barns were burned to the ground, and his life was in shambles.
He recognized that God was gracious and his name deserved the praise when things were prosperous, and that God's name was equally blessed when things could not have been worse.
His godly response is a testimony to all.
When you feel like everything around you is unstable or even in decline, you still have the name to cling to. You can still declare the blessing of his holy name.
Lord God, I declare your great name above my prosperity and above my adversity in Jesus Name.
