Praise Is His Name
Praise Is His Name
"He is your praise." Deuteronomy 10:21
Praise is normally a verb, something you do on behalf of God. In this case, however, praise is a noun; it is the object of the action.
Too often our praise gets lost in the process. Rather than focusing on whom we worship, we focus on ourselves and the act of worship.
God help us!
When Moses declared He is your praise, he was calling the people of God to repent, to take the emphasis off of what they were doing in worship, and redirecting them to put the focus back on God.
Though praise is a virtuous action, it makes an even better object.
Praise is not simply what you do; praise is his name.
When the verb praise meets the noun praise, you can be sure that you are encountering God.
Father God, I declare that you are my Praise. You are my joy. My song. My strength and my salvation. In Jesus name.
