Your God Is Jealous

Your God Is Jealous

"For the LORD your God is... a jealous God." Deuteronomy 4:24

Jealousy is a strong motivation.

Jealousy turns good people bad, but jealousy validates a good God good.

God's jealousy for you is an expression of his intense love and affection. Elsewhere the Bible says, "Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, 'He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us'?" James 4:5

God yearns jealousy for that sacred place inside you, that sanctuary that God created and where only he deserves to dwell--your spirit.

In your spirit is a throne that drives everything in your life, and that throne was designed for only one occupant--Christ himself. For any person or thing to sit on that throne is an abomination and desecration of God's design. It is only appropriate for God to affectionately and jealously long for that seat of prominence.

Your jealous God is your best friend.

Father God, I renounce all my jealousy that unrighteously yearns to sit on the throne of anyone else's spirit, and I honor you for your jealousy that righteously yearns to occupy that throne in me. I welcome your jealous love for me in Jesus' name.
