Put My Name On Them
Put My Name On Them
“So shall they put my name upon the people... and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:27
This may be hard to swallow, but God has given you the responsibility to put his name on people, and with that responsibility he has given you the power and authority to do it effectively.
This is a high calling--an assignment to be taken seriously, and to do diligently.
Putting God's name on anyone else starts with making sure that God's name is deeply and indelibly embedded in you. Receive his name. Let his name and character change your name and reputation. Let his name bring you into alignment with the will and character of Christ.
In the kingdom anything you have received, you can give away, including the blessing of God's name. Jesus said, "Freely you have received, freely give."
You have received the full measure of the blessing of Jesus' name, and now you have the privileged assignment to put that name on others by blessing them.
Father God, you have put your name and the blessing of your name on me. I receive this assignment in your name to now put the blessing of your name on others.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I now bless you, [specifically name your people.]
The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. (See Numbers 6:24-26)
