God Almighty

God Almighty

"When Abram was ninety-nine years ago, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, 'I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless.'" Genesis 17:1

You will value God's strength when you feel weak.

You will value God's potency when you feel impotent.

You will value God's sufficiency, when you feel insufficient.

You will lean into God Almighty, when you recognize just how finite, mortal, limited, and human you are.

When Abram was 99 years old, and keenly aware of his frailties, for the first time God reveals to him a name that couldn't have been more appropriate--God Almighty, El Shaddai. The all powerful, all sufficient, mighty breasted one.

When Abram was losing his youthful vigor--his mojo--God manifests his name, El Shaddai.

What limitation or frailty have you become aware of recently? God has waited until the appropriate moment to make himself known to you as El Shaddai, God Almighty.

Loving Father, I call on your name today, El Shaddai. God Almighty. In my weakness I receive you as my strength, my power, wisdom, and sufficiency in Jesus' name.
