"The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters." Genesis 1:2
Think of it--it only takes 2 verses in the Bible to give us the revelation of God, the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the one triune God. Most significant.
Like every facet of God's name, Spirit gives us a distinct revelation about God's nature. God is Spirit and he is worshipped in spirit by true worshippers.
Unlike most facets of God's name, however, Spirit doesn't simply provide us with an insight into God, it identifies the third Person of the one triune God.
God wants you to know the Person of the Holy Spirit. He wants you to recognize him. Hear his voice. Love him. Obey him.
As the Spirit was hovering over the face of the waters, his Spirit is hovering over you. Over your family. Your church. Your people.
Welcome his hovering presence. Recognize his hovering presence. Obey him. Love him.
Spirit of God, I welcome you. Hover over me, and hover over my people. Teach me to recognize your presence, and to hear and obey your voice in Jesus name.
