Step Into The Name
"Through your name we tread down those who rise up against us." Psalm 44:5
Every kingdom leader faces forces that rise up in opposition- some personal and some impersonal. You may tend to respond in one of two extremes--to either deny the opposition or to aggressively attack it. But there is a third option. A better option.
Rather than denying it or defying the opposition, try overcoming it. Try responding to the attacks against you by lifting the name. You can actually put God's name between you and your enemies. Then those who rise up against you are no longer simply against you, they now find themselves rising up against God's name. Certainly not a good place to be.
The next time someone rises up against you, don't retaliate. Anyone can do that. Instead take it as a new opportunity to encounter God's name.
Let's try it.
Who is rising up against you today? Don't retaliate. Raise the name of God against them and watch what happens.
Loving Father, I want to praise you for this opportunity to raise your name in the middle of this conflict. I place your name between myself and this one who is against me. Your name is greater than my enemies. I shall prevail in Jesus’ name.
