The Name Goes First

The Name Goes First

"You are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me." Psalm 31:3

When entering new territory, be sure to put God's name out in front of you. Declare his name. Be sure his name goes first, because when his name is out front you can be confident that he will lead and guide you.

David knew the difference between feeling insecure and walking in confidence. As king he faced many adversaries and challenges, and in the trenches of daily battles he learned to make sure that God's name was out in front.

What adversaries and challenges are you facing today?

What's out in front of you, your adversaries or God's name?

If you have not yet put God's name in front of you--between yourself and your adversaries--now is your chance.

Repent. Don't take your cues from your adversaries. Take your stand. Declare the name of Christ as your Rock and your Fortress, the One who goes in front of you to lead you and guide you.

Loving Father, I repent of allowing my adversaries to stand in front of me. Right now I declare your name. You are my Rock and my Fortress. I put your name in front of me and I look to you to lead and guide me.
