His Majestic Name
His Majestic Name
"O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!" Psalm 8:1, 9
Psalm 8 begins and ends with one of the greatest declarations ever made, O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.
To declare God's name majestic is to acknowledge it to be not simply magnificent, but also regal. Kingly.
To declare God's name majestic in all the earth indicates that his kingdom is pervasive, universal, for all people at all times.
To declare O Lord, is to give homage--to humble yourself in the presence of greatness.
To declare O Lord, our Lord, makes it personal. You are no longer simply giving tribute to a distant magistrate, but you are crowning him to be your Lord, and adoring his majestic name.
Take time now to exalt and enjoy the majesty of God's name.
O Lord Jesus, my Lord Jesus, I declare the majesty of your name over my life and family, and over all the earth.
