The Sun Of Righteousness
The Sun Of Righteousness
"For you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall." Malachi 4:2
The name of God brings the blessing of God.
In a unique twist of words, God promises a special blessing to those who fear, revere, and honor his name: the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
Each of these phrases brings a distinct blessing.
The sun of righteousness promises an infusion of social justice and personal integrity.
Rise with healing in its wings promises healing, vitality, and hopeful exuberance. While a sunrise does not normally have wings, the beams of light often resemble wings that add to the uplifting hope of the morning sky.
You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall promises optimism, fearlessness, and hopeful adventure.
All this comes from a healthy reverence of God's holy name.
And it's yours if you want it. Just fear his name.
Father God, I stand among those who fear and revere your name. I take as my own every nuance of these glorious promises. Yes, the sun of righteousness shall rise over me with healing in its wings. And I shall go out leaping like a carefree calf from the stall.
