Take It To Heart

Take It To Heart

"If you will not take it to heart to give honor to my name, says the LORD of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings." Malachi 2:2

If you take God's name, he expects you to take his name to heart.

There is obviously a categorical difference on the one hand between simply taking the name of God casually--to hedge your bets, like a cheap insurance policy--and on the other hand to take his name to heart.

To take God's name to heart is all-inclusive, permeating, wholehearted. It's an inner resolve to honor, exalt, promote, give preference to his name above everything. To value, cherish, esteem, prioritize, and protect God's reputation over your own or anyone else's.

Have you taken God's name to heart?

Have you told God?

Father God, I want to go on record--today I take it to heart to honor your name in all things, above all things, and at all times.
