Bless People In The Name

Bless People In The Name

"Aaron was set apart to... make offerings before the LORD and minister to him and pronounce blessings in his name." 1 Chronicles 23:13

Sometimes it's easier to pray and ask God to bless people than it is to go ahead yourself to speak blessing to people. God has commissioned you to do both.

God gives you his name not only to use when you speak blessings to God, he gives you his name to speak blessings to people.

God explicitly commissioned Aaron and his priesthood with twin duties: to use the name of God when they spoke blessings to God, and to use the name when they spoke blessings to people.

Don't make it complicated. Keep it simple. Be yourself. Speak from your heart. Use your own words. Something like this.

"I don't say it often enough, but I want you to know that you have a good heart. You are smart. God has blessed you in so many ways. God has called you and you have a unique purpose to fulfill. I love you. I pray for you. I'm excited to see what God will do through your life."

Ask God who he wants you to bless today in Jesus name.

Father God, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, teach me to speak blessings in your name. Free me from my fears and inhibitions. Give me revelation into whom you want me to bless, and embolden me to speak a timely word.
