God’s Presence, God’s Name
God’s Presence, God’s Name
"The LORD appeared to him [Isaac] the same night and said, 'I am the God of Abraham your father. Fear not, for I am with you and will bless you and multiply your offspring for my servant Abraham’s sake.' So he built an altar there and called upon the name of the LORD." Genesis 26:24-25
Every time God manifests himself to you by name, it is for a purpose--he is inviting you to use his name in prayer.
This is the first time we see Isaac call on the name of the Lord. Notice it is in direct response to God's manifest presence. When God revealed himself to Isaac, he intended to trigger a deepening hunger in Isaac to know God better. And it worked.
God is constantly seeking to trigger a more focused and passionate prayer life in you and he does this by manifesting his presence to you daily.
Is it working?
When you want to know God better, you will call on the name of the Lord.
The more God manifest himself to you the more you call on the name. And the more you call on the name, the more God will manifest himself to you.
Lord Jesus Christ, you do manifest your presence to me consistently, and I respond by calling on your name. Increase my hunger for your presence and increase my understanding of your name.
