Extol The Name
Extol The Name
"The name of the Lord Jesus was extolled." Acts 19:17
When you extol the name of Jesus in your own life, that's a good start.
When you extol his name in your family, you're getting somewhere.
But when you and your neighbors start to extol his name in the school, business parks and town hall, you are definitely getting traction.
In the early church, the Kingdom of Jesus started getting some serious traction when the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled in the streets.
The word "extol" is from the Greek word megaluno which means to magnify, enlarge or increase in value. While it's technically not possible for you to enlarge God's name, nor to increase the value of his name, you have the privilege to enlarge the notoriety of his name, and to increase the value of what people think of his name.
You extoll his name when you ask God to extol his name.
You extol his name when you tell friends the specific things God's name has done for you.
You extol his name when you live in a way that pleases God.
Lord Jesus, would you extol your name today, and would you use me to extol your name?
