The Honor Of Dishonor
The Honor Of Dishonor
"They left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name." Acts 5:41
There is no higher honor than dishonor for the name.
God gives you more grace when you are disgraced for the name.
When the apostle Peter stood trial for the second time in as many days, he could have feared for his life. Afterall, the same leaders who crucified Christ are still in power, and they now want to kill the apostle. But there was not the slightest hesitancy or tinge of fear and apprehension. Peter stood strong and rejoiced in the honor of his dishonor.
You too can taste the honor of dishonor when you are dishonored for the name.
When your life is so full of Jesus that those who dishonor him also dishonor you, you can rejoice for many reasons.
- Rejoice that his name is greater than your name.
- Rejoice that his name is linked to your name.
- Rejoice that his name has eclipsed your name.
- Rejoice there when others look at you they see Jesus.
Rejoice in the honor of dishonor.
Lord Jesus, I rejoice that I am counted worthy to suffer dishonor for your name.
