Son Of God
"I am the Son of God." John 10:36
Son is the name Father has always called Jesus.
Son is not the name Jesus received at his birth in Bethlehem, but long before, in eternity. In Bethlehem he received his physical body, but in eternity he received his Sonship.
Son--the name Jesus has always heard from Father.
Son--the name that accurately describes Jesus' identity.
Son--the name that gives him the ability to rescue orphan people--like me and you--and make them sons and daughters of God.
Son--the name that perfectly reflects his nature.
Son--the name that links him inseparably to Father.
Son--the name that explains why Jesus can say, "No one comes to the Father but by me."
To Father he is Son; to you and me he is Son of God.
Lord Jesus, I honor you today as Son of God. You and you alone have the right to rescue me from my orphanhood and adopt me as Father's child. Hallelujah!
