The Door
The Door
"Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep." John 10:7
As you knock on many of the wrong doors, and sludge through the swamp and grope through the darkness trying to find your way in life, Jesus stands up and boldly identifies himself to you, I am the Door.
Not just one of many doors--he explicitly says, the Door. The one and only Door.
We have all tried to find fulfillment behind the doors of success, wealth, fame, sex or power. Clearly there is no lasting satisfaction behind those doors.
Jesus is the Doorway that leads to true, lasting fulfillment in life.
No matter how old you are or how long you have searched to find your way, Jesus is the Door and he is waiting for you to come to him--to come through him.
The Door doesn't lead you to an encounter with God, the Door is your encounter.
Lord Jesus, you are the Door--you are my Door. Today I enter into your presence by your name.
